From the Niagara Falls Review:

After several delays, the Whirlpool Adventure Course will not open this year, and company officials are now pinning their hopes on next spring.

“There’s two outstanding variance issues with the (Technical Standards Safety Authority) that we are continuing to move forward with, pursuing the variances,” said Lindsay DiCosimo, marketing and communications manager for WildPlay.

“We are asking to have the exact same variances provided to the Whirlpool Adventure Course that they have granted to multiple parks in the past, including ones in Ontario, and ones out in British Columbia.”

Adventure course ‘few weeks away’ from opening

From the Niagara Falls Review:

It may not be getting the same hype as the new zipline, but WildPlay’s Whirlpool Adventure Course could end up being equally impressive for thrill seekers.

The course is still under construction and is expected to open in about a month along the Niagara Parkway across from the Whirlpool Golf Course at Thompson Point, said WildPlay Niagara Falls spokeswoman Lindsay DiCosimo.

“We’re a few weeks away from opening up,” she said.

It will complement WildPlay’s MistRider Zipline to the Falls, which opened earlier this month at the base of Clifton Hill.

Zipping through the air in Niagara Falls

From the Niagara Falls Review:

Friday was the beginning of a new adventure at Niagara Falls.

The new Wildplay MistRider Zipline attraction had a soft opening Friday in advance of their Wednesday grand opening.

I headed down to Clifton Hill to have my own turn on the zipline, located near Hornblower cruises. I electronically paid $56.49 and signed my waiver on my smart phone while I waited in line. The line was long and, according to Lindsay DiCosimo, marketing manager for WildPlay Niagara Falls, they sold out early in the day.

Some people in line were excited at the prospect of being among the first to take flight.

“I thought that made it seem more like I wanted to do it when I found out it was just opening,” said Emily Parker, from Liverpool. She was riding the zipline with her brother, Max, while their mother Paula stayed closer to the ground.

“I wouldn’t go on it,” said Paula, “I’m scared of heights.”

Zip line over Niagara Falls gorge set to open July 20

From the Buffalo News:

There’s a new thrill penetrating the mist of the Horseshoe Falls – folks zip lining, 2,200 feet over the Niagara Gorge.

WildPlay MistRider Zipline is on track to debut Friday, but staffers, their friends and family members began testing the ride over the weekend. The official grand opening/ribbon-cutting is scheduled for July 20.

Lindsay DiCosimo, marketing manager of WildPlay MistRider, called the ride “phenomenal,” with “spectacular views” of both the American and Horseshoe falls.

“It’s a completely different perspective for people,” DiCosimo said.
