    From Niagara This Week:

One email and a spark of inspiration was all it took for Niagara Falls to go blue for autism awareness on the night of April 2.

Both the American and Canadian falls were illuminated in blue on the evening of Good Friday, as part of Autism Speaks’ Light It Up Blue campaign. The idea to light up the falls came from one person, Alexandra Devellis, daughter of city councillor Bart Maves.

Someone wrote a letter to the editor of the Niagara Falls Review:

Thumbs up to councillors Diodati, Ioannoni, Kerrio, Maves, Pietrangelo and Mayor Ted Salci for voting with their heads and not their emotions in supporting the proposed Loretto Hotel Project…

It’s encouraging to see that we have a majority on city council that use common sense.
