Maves, Jeffs appointed to Niagara Parks Commission

From Niagara This Week: Two former regional councillors have been appointed to the Niagara Parks Commission board. Bart Maves, a former Niagara Falls councillor, and April Jeffs, former mayor of Wainfleet, were appointed to the commission Jan. 31 by the Progressive Conservative government. They will each serve a three-year term.

Glowing review for 36th Winter Festival of Lights

From Niagara This Week: It was another successful season for the Winter Festival of Lights, with increased visitor traffic and donations. The 90-day festival, which ran Nov. 3 to Jan. 31, saw 89,350 vehicles and 464 tour buses go through Dufferin Islands, up from the roughly 76,000 vehicles and 400 buses the previous season.
