As you are probably aware, the two May holiday weekends (Victoria Day weekend in Canada, Memorial Day weekend in the US) marks the unofficial start of the summer tourists season here in Niagara Falls. I haven’t heard or read anything specific about what sort of business levels people are expecting this year, but I would definitely assume that people will continue to flock to Niagara Falls.
- The zipline will have a full summer in operation
- The Big Top attraction on Clifton Hill will open
- The new developments by Kelsey’s will open (Niagara Speedway, Funnel Cakes, etc)
- The Canadian dollar is weaker, so more Americans should be coming
Here’s hoping it is a great year for everyone!
They have been making great progress on the new “Big Top Amazing Mirror & Laser Maze” attraction on Clifton Hill. Yesterday the scaffolding was still up and the building was covered. Today, it is now uncovered and looks great!
Back in June I posted about the new attraction that is going in where Brick City was located. As you may recall, that building was torn down and it is an empty lot right now. The lot is fenced off and there are signs up showing the name of the attraction and that it is opening soon. Well, here we are at the end of the summer, and nothing has been done yet.
I was surprised to see that they’ve even had leaflets available talking about the new attraction. I would assume it will be open for next year, but only time will tell.
You can download a PDF of the Big Top leaflet as well.
