Local charities reap benefits of Sleep Cheap event

    From the Niagara Falls Review:

The third annual Sleep Cheap Charities Reap event raised almost $180,000 for Niagara charities.

“We definitely exceeded our expectations this year,” said Coun. Jim Diodati, who founded the popular event in 2004.

Twenty five city hotels offered up thousands of choice rooms for the four-day event last month.

Residents quickly booked more than 6,000 rooms at reduced rates including water park and fallsview rooms.

“I’m extremely grateful to the hotel industry. They are our main industry and they give back to the community in a big way,” Diodati said.
