Here are some scenes that are a little more noteworthy:

0:01:21
There is a nice shot of the American Falls with a rainbow.
0:02:27
The main character George Loomis (played by Joseph Cotten) is shown walking below the American Falls while he does a voice over.
0:02:56
The Rainbow Cabins are shown. They are located right across from the river from the American Falls.
0:04:50
There is a nice aerial shot of all 3 falls as well as Oakes Garden.
0:05:05
The previous shot pans left and shows the Rainbow Bridge with its bell tower.
0:10:30
A honeymooning couple takes an incline railcar down to the Maid of Mist.
The Maid of the Mist is shown. It is the “most famous boat in America”.
0:11:10 – 0:12:10
They go on Maid of the Mist No. 2. There are a lot of nice scenes of the boat and the Falls.
0:12:12
The go into the Scenic Tunnel (now Journey Behind The Falls).
0:13:30 – 0:14:38
This scene shows nice shots of them down on the platform near the base of the Horseshoe Falls.
0:15:38
The Scenic Tunnel ticket is shown on screen. Admission was $1.00.
0:23:07
We see the American Falls illuminated through their cabin window.
0:40:40
This short scene shows the Whirlpool Aero Car and the Whilrpool below.
0:51:45 – 0:56:35
This is a lengthy scene by the American Falls at the Cave of the Winds.
1:11:40
Some of the characters are on a boat in the upper Niagara River.
1:12:09
They stop to get gas in “this little Canadian town of Chippawa. Great Revolutionary War battles. The British Whipped us”
1:20:00
Two characters are in the drift above the Falls.
1:26:10
George goes over the Falls. The effect looks poor given today’s standards, but it was probably quite good for its time.

You can purchase Niagara from both Amazon.ca or Amazon.com

A list of movies filmed in or about Niagara Falls just isn’t complete without the 1953 movie Niagara.
