The circus is coming to the Golden Horseshoe.<\/p>\n

It’s one that has never been seen by North American eyes, promised Michael Burgess, renowned for his role as Jean Valjean in ‘Les Miserables.’<\/p>\n

Mr. Burgess, along with Hamilton business representatives, politicians and Niagara Parks Commission officials announced the creation of Cirque Niagara, which will be at the Rapidsview Park, beside Marineland.<\/p>\n

“It’s a revolutionary form of theatre entertainment,” said Mr. Burgess, who hosted the media event last week at the Doubletree Inn in Niagara Falls. “It’s not Cirque du Soleil. It’s a brand new circus.”<\/p>\n

The $10 million production will open May 20 for two shows a day, six days a week until Oct. 8 under a 60,000-square-foot big top. Show times will be at 5 and 8 p.m.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
