{"id":3157,"date":"2008-06-30T10:58:13","date_gmt":"2008-06-30T14:58:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/accessniagara.com\/blog\/?p=3157"},"modified":"2008-06-30T10:58:13","modified_gmt":"2008-06-30T14:58:13","slug":"new-balloon-ride-may-already-be-grounded","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/accessniagara.com\/blog\/2008\/06\/30\/new-balloon-ride-may-already-be-grounded\/","title":{"rendered":"New balloon ride may already be grounded"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From the <a href=\"http:\/\/accessniagara.com\/c\/?1527\">Niagara Gazette<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The latest attempt to bring a tethered balloon ride back to Niagara Falls has been grounded before getting in the air.<\/p>\n<p>Adrian Devine, co-operator of the High Life Ballooning Company, has been in talks with city officials and the Cordish Co. to operate a hot-air balloon at the site of the former Flight of Angels Balloon Ride at 310 Rainbow Blvd.<\/p>\n<p>While not as large as the one operated by the Great American Balloon Co., Devine said his balloon could\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve been in place by this weekend if not for a \u00e2\u20ac\u0153last-minute hiccup\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Wednesday in finalizing the lease with Cordish, the property\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s owners.<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m literally battling right now to try to save the venture,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Devine told the Niagara Gazette. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153We would like to be in Niagara Falls. It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s in Mr. Cordish\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s hands now.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>Devine said the Cordish is requiring the balloon to have an insurance policy with levels exceeding what\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s available in the industry.
