{"id":20644,"date":"2017-08-11T09:00:13","date_gmt":"2017-08-11T13:00:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/accessniagara.com\/blog\/?p=20644"},"modified":"2017-08-10T19:22:54","modified_gmt":"2017-08-10T23:22:54","slug":"animal-cruelty-charges-dropped-against-marineland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/accessniagara.com\/blog\/2017\/08\/11\/animal-cruelty-charges-dropped-against-marineland\/","title":{"rendered":"Animal cruelty charges dropped against Marineland"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.niagarafallsreview.ca\/2017\/08\/10\/animal-cruelty-charges-dropped-against-marineland\">Niagara Falls Review<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Eleven counts of animal cruelty against Marineland have been withdrawn.<\/p>\n<p>The charges, filed in November and January by the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (OSPCA), were dropped by the Crown Thursday morning at Provincial Offences Court in Niagara Falls.<\/p>\n<p>The charges related to the care of the park&#8217;s black bears, elk, deer, peacocks and guinea hens.<\/p>\n<p>The Crown dropped eight of the charges because there was no \u201creasonable prospect\u201d of conviction.
