{"id":19271,"date":"2017-04-03T11:00:54","date_gmt":"2017-04-03T15:00:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/accessniagara.com\/blog\/?p=19271"},"modified":"2017-04-03T10:31:33","modified_gmt":"2017-04-03T14:31:33","slug":"hornblower-cruises-season-starts-last-saturday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/accessniagara.com\/blog\/2017\/04\/03\/hornblower-cruises-season-starts-last-saturday\/","title":{"rendered":"Hornblower cruises season starts (last) Saturday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I know I&#8217;m a couple of days late&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>From the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.niagarafallsreview.ca\/2017\/03\/27\/hornblower-cruises-season-starts-saturday\">Niagara Falls Review<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Hornblower Niagara Cruises is set to sail for a fourth season, starting Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>The relatively mild winter meant there was no ice buildup in the Niagara River, so the boat tour operator set the April 1 start date and also began accepting bookings last month.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have some weather and ice-modelling programs that we\u2019ve created over the last couple of years and, about a month ago, we knew there were not going to be any significant ice concerns so we livened up our ticket sales,\u201d said general manager Mory DiMaurizio.<\/p>\n<p>The popular tourist attraction also opened April 1 last year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was a great early start to the season and a great indicator of what was a landmark year,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>By comparison, the 2015 season didn\u2019t start until April 30, following one of the coldest, longest winters on record.
