Last August, Niagara Falls, Ont., Mayor Jim Diodati scrambled to contain the damage after a Star expos\u00e9 about the treatment of animals at Marineland, according to internal documents.<\/p>\n
But within a few days he was bewildered and wondering why constituents were so furious at him. Everything he did seemed to go wrong.<\/p>\n
The subject of one email read: \u201cEveryone hates Marineland \u2014 but YOU!\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s pretty disappointing how one-sided most of the emails and comments\/arguments are . . . very unbalanced,\u201d the mayor wrote his executive assistant.<\/p>\n
