And the food is better now, for the most part.<\/p>\n<p>The falls also flow with much less power&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Did I mention that the accommodations are also better today than in 1604, when the French explorer Samuel de Champlain may first have encountered Niagara?<\/p>\n<p>No, the falls aren\u2019t what they once were. Decrying the commercialism of today\u2019s Niagara and bemoaning the lost wilderness is easy.
