{"id":10091,"date":"2011-08-22T07:00:32","date_gmt":"2011-08-22T11:00:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/accessniagara.com\/blog\/?p=10091"},"modified":"2011-08-22T09:44:20","modified_gmt":"2011-08-22T13:44:20","slug":"people-mover-agreement-stalled","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/accessniagara.com\/blog\/2011\/08\/22\/people-mover-agreement-stalled\/","title":{"rendered":"People-mover agreement stalled"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.niagarafallsreview.ca\/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=3264038\">Niagara Falls Review<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Details of the $50-million people-mover project will not be released until next week.<\/p>\n<p>Niagara Falls council was expected to discuss the final direction of the deal with the Niagara Parks Commission at a meeting Thursday at city hall.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting was cancelled following a lengthy discussion on Wednesday between a provincial mediator and lawyers representing the city and Niagara Parks.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We just ran out of time and we didn&#8217;t have a deal yet to present to the councillors,&#8221; Niagara Falls Mayor Jim Diodati said Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Diodati said councillors were given a copy of the agreement Monday during an in-camera session of the regular council meeting.<\/p>\n<p>Questions were raised about the agreement, so lawyers from both sides and the mediator returned to the table on Wednesday to further discuss the business terms of the agreement.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Now, what was discussed (Wednesday) will get added in and that agreement we will present to council next week,&#8221; Diodati said.<\/p>\n<p>The agreement is now scheduled to be presented to councillors on Thursday at city hall.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From the Niagara Falls Review: Details of the $50-million people-mover project will not be released until next week.
