As the Niagara Falls Review reported, the Hilton is basically at its maximum height. They have to finish it off, but it doesn’t look like it will get any taller.

As a side note, I have been in contact with Vince DiCosimo Jr and will be meeting him soon.
Compared to the way it looked when they first started, the Denny’s on Victoria Avenue is looking very nice.

Technically, this Tim Hortons I guess this is going to be on Murray St. Whatever the official address, it sure looks like it is going to be open soon.

I posted before about Classic Iron Motorcycle Museum being closed. I recently received an email with a bit more information:
Apparently the Classic Iron Museum has gone bankrupt and the bikes have been removed.
This is interesting, as I was told in the beginning the museum was a partnership with another guy who owned almost all of the bikes. The Museum was a way to display them. I wonder if the owner of the bikes was able to keep them, or if they will have to liquidate some of them to pay some debts.
Someone with a Blogger blog posted about a recent trip to Niagara Falls:
We went on a family date last Saturday, and did we ever have fun. It was our daughter’s first time down Clifton Hill, where we showed her as many tourist spots as we could, without spending too much money. And I’ll be darned, even the souvenir shops have started carrying WEBKINZ!
On Monday I received the latest newsletter from Niagara Hospitality Hotels, the operator of the The Oakes Hotel Overlooking the Falls.

To subscribe to the newsletter, click on the Special Offers link on the main page of their site.
As I mentioned before, one of my sons and I had some fun together Tuesday night. As we were driving into Niagara Falls, I noticed some lights down a side street. It was Stardust Inn. It looks very nice at night.

I’m not really into the whole haunted house scene, but I know many of you are. The other day I came across the Dark Destinations web site. It is an “online travel guide to all the mysterious and macabre locations around the world”. For Niagara Falls they list Screamers, Movieland, Criminal Hall of Fame, and more. They don’t have a page specific for Niagara Falls (they list the locations according to the alphabet), but a good place to start is the Screamers page. From there you can find other locations in the area.
On Sunday I received the latest newsletter from Niagara Falls Tourism.

From the Niagara Falls Review:
Staff from the Whirlpool Aero Car and the Niagara Parks Police dangled high above the racing Niagara River Wednesday to hone their rescue techniques.
At 76 metres above the whirlpool, the crew travelled two at a time in a metal rescue bucket to the cable car.
The small bucket, which is housed in a cave-like opening at Thompson Point, is designed to rescue stranded passengers if the aerial tramway becomes inoperable.
While it has never been used for a rescue since it was installed in 1984, staff and emergency personnel undergo regular training once a year.
