Few people could have predicted how massive the “Star Wars” phenomenon would become when it was released 40 years ago. It certainly boosted the profile of Peter Mayhew, the 7’3” English actor who played the iconic Chewbacca in the space adventure series. Mayhew will be one of the featured guests at Niagara Falls Comic Con June 2-4.
During a recent phone interview, Mayhew said he’s looking forward to returning to Niagara Falls, Ont. for the three-day convention. When asked how many years has he been touring on the convention circuit, he laughed and said, “Too many. It’s been a long time (since I’ve been in Niagara Falls). I was quite amazed the first time I went up there and saw all the water and the whole lake.”
