Plans under way for year long birthday bash in Niagara Falls

From the Niagara Falls Review:

Normally, Chris Dabrowski is consumed with comic books, science fiction and superheroes as manager of the annual Niagara Falls Comic Con.

But Dabrowski was wearing a different hat when he appeared before council to unveil plans being put forward by the city’s Canada 150 Celebration Committee, of which he is chair.

“It’s a big one. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for us to celebrate, for us to celebrate the past, the present and the future of Canada here in Niagara Falls,” Dabrowski said. “We want to make sure next year that we don’t just celebrate on July 1 but we celebrate throughout the whole year.”

Other communities have already announced plans on how they plan to celebrate the country’s sesquicentennial he said.

“Now it’s our turn.”
