Parking rates revised for Niagara Glen

From the Niagara Falls Review:

The Niagara Parks Commission has slashed its proposed annual parking fees in half at the Niagara Glen Nature Centre.

The provincial agency announced in September paid parking would begin at the Glen – which had previously offered free parking – starting in the spring.

Daily parking rates, between May and October, would be $1.25 per hour to a maximum of $10 a day, or users could purchase an annual pass for $30.

Soon after the parking rates were announced, a change.org petition was created calling on Niagara Parks to maintain the status quo at the Glen.

“The Niagara Parks are Niagara’s green space for free, healthy, happy, family activities. Let’s tell Niagara Parks that we want to continue to have free access to the Niagara Glen (Steel Stairs),” reads the petition letter.

In less than two months, the petition has garnered more than 1,000 signatures.
