Could there possibly be a more dramatic backdrop for golf than Niagara Falls?

I don’t know how common this is, but I’ve never seen this before. The National Post has a sponsored article that is supposed to be “Special to the National Post”. It is essentially an ad for golfing at Niagara Parks Commission courses.

Growing numbers of golfers come every year to gaze in awe at the world’s mightiest waterfalls and play the celebrated trio of courses that helped the Niagara Peninsula blossom into one of North America’s hottest and most unique golf destinations.

Operated by Niagara Parks Golf, the two championship courses at the $27-million Legends on the Niagara complex, together with the Stanley Thompson-designed Whirlpool Golf Course, have become as essential to life and tourism on the peninsula as the award-winning wineries, War of 1812 battlefields, and theatre offerings of the Shaw Festival.

Launched to rave reviews in 2002, Legends on the Niagara is one of the showpieces of the Canadian game. Niagara Parks Golf recruited two of the country’s top golf architects, Doug Carrick and Thomas McBroom, to design sister 18-hole courses.
