From the Niagara Falls Review:
When Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours opened its doors in 1992, it was a modest affair.
A single boat took passengers through soaking whitewater from the Niagara River mouth in Niagara-on-the-Lake through the Devil’s Hole Rapids to the Niagara Whirlpool.
This year marks the 25th for the business headquartered in the town.
It now boasts a fleet of eight, 50-passenger jet boats that depart from Niagara-on-the-Lake, Niagara Falls, Ont., (via a shuttle to the Queenston dock) and Lewiston, N.Y.
Its format: approximately one-hour tours that fold in highlights about the famous river’s complex geology and history.
Passengers also choose between two types of trips; wet or dry in a covered “Jet Dome.”
This season is the earliest ever, following one of the mildest winters in recent years. The launch is about three weeks earlier than usual.
