Hello ‘Street of Fun,’ it’s been awhile

From the St Catharines Standard:

Most times, Bob and Kevin meet up at a bar. Over a beer with a hockey game on. But there they were Sunday, fist-bumping next to a Statue of Liberty made out of toothpicks.

For one day a year it’s the place where locals meet. The one place they avoid all year: Clifton Hill.

There were a few tourists, sure. But once a year every January, the Street of Fun is packed with thousands of Niagara Falls residents flashing their ID and getting into museums, attractions and funhouses for just $1, with all funds going to cystic fibrosis research.

With kids in tow, it was their chance to play tourist. And virtually every conversation was the same: They rarely ever come here, but couldn’t resist the cheap admission.
