Officials seek ways to reduce Rainbow Bridge congestion

From Buffalo Business First:

Ontario officials are trying to find a way to lessen traffic congestion around the Rainbow Bridge.

The Niagara Falls Review reports that a public information meeting will be held this Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. in Niagara Falls, Ont.
“We’ve been looking at traffic entering into Canada from the U.S. side,” says Kumar Ranjan, the transportation planning project manager for the Niagara Region. “We are trying to see if we can give some kind of direct access and trying to see if we can work something in there if you are heading toward the Falls or the Falls area.”

Ranjan says the problem is the lack of space around the bridge, which connects the prime tourist areas on both sides of the border.
