From Florida to the falls, by bicycle

From the Buffalo News:

Two travelers from Florida came to see our natural wonder last weekend.

But unlike most of the 8 million tourists who flock to the falls each year, it took Nate Frankoski and Mike Buonaiuto 49 days to get here.

The college students rode bicycles from Key West, Fla., to Niagara Falls in an effort to increase awareness for disabled veterans and to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project, a national organization aimed at empowering post-war veterans.

“We wanted to give back to the people who have to spend the rest of their lives in discomfort, whether it’s losing a limb or suffering through trauma,” Buonaiuto said. “We want to bring peace to those people by showing we’re still thinking about them.”
