Wallenda gives behind-the-scenes look

From WIVB Channel 4 in Buffalo:

With one day before his high wire walk over the Niagara Falls, Nik Wallenda spent the morning to teach some local school kids how to succeed on the tightrope.

Wallenda gave the students a behind-the-scenes look at what his walk on Friday will be like from Terrapin Point. He explained to students that the pendulums hanging from the wire now crossing the international divide will keep the wire from rolling underneath his feet.

Students asked dozens of questions. Wallenda told them he’ll be carrying a 40-pound balance bar and wearing elk skin shoes, handmade by his mother, which he says will stick to the cable when it gets wet from the mist.
