Niagara Falls to go dark for Earth Hour

From Niagara This Week:

It’ll be lights out at the Horseshoe and American Falls Saturday.

The Niagara Parks Commission (NPC), in partnership with the Niagara Falls Illumination Board, plans to participate in the World Wildlife Fund’s (WWF) global Earth Hour initiative by switching off the evening Illumination of the falls from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

“Our environmental responsibilities and stewardship over the lands we control is an important hallmark of our organization and it is why we are working closely with the Niagara Falls Illumination Board to be part of this worthy global environmental initiative,” NPC chair Janice Thomson said in a news release.
