Sleep Cheap returns Nov. 13-17

From Niagara This Week:

Sleep Cheap is back for an eighth year with a seven-figure goal in mind.

The fundraising event that gives Niagara residents the opportunity to stay in local hotels at vastly reduced rates with the proceeds going to charity is looking to cross the million-dollar mark this year. More than $845,000 has been raised so far.

“We’re within reach,” said Niagara Falls Mayor Jim Diodati, who created the concept in 2004 when he was a city councillor. “To help us get there we’ve added a few things.”

The dates this year are Nov. 13-17, a five-night promotion for the first time ever. In all, 27 hotels will offer 7,800 room nights. The cost of  rooms is unchanged: $35 per night for a standard room, $45 for a fallsview room, $65 for a whirlpool room, and $85 for a room with access to a waterpark. It is available only to Niagara residents.
