Tourism market key to radio stations sale

From the Niagara Falls Review:

Niagara Falls radio is making room for The Moose.

Haliburton Broadcasting Group, best known for its 13 Moose FM stations across Ontario, has added Niagara Falls FM stations The River (CFLZ) and Z101 (CKEY) to its stable, pending approval by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC).

“We’re thrilled to be there, I want to make sure people know that,” said Haliburton president Chris Grossman on Friday, two days after announcing the purchase.

In addition to the Niagara stations, Grossman is awaiting CRTC approval for two stations in Stratford, one AM and one FM.

It’s part of the company’s plan to gain a foothold in two of the province’s strongest tourism destinations.
