Casino union vote count delayed

From the Niagara Falls Review:

Casino workers in Niagara Falls won’t know until at least Wednesday whether the Canadian Auto Workers was successful in getting certified as the union representing 2,900 Fallsview Casino and Casino Niagara workers, says CAW organizer John Aman.

It has been two weeks since most frontline casino employees voted after the CAW applied for certification as their bargaining agent.

“We will have a much better idea after the 12th where this thing is headed,” Aman said Thursday.

May 12 is when the Ontario Labour Relations Board has scheduled a meeting with the CAW and casino management to try to resolve differences they have over which workers should have been eligible to vote and who should be included in the proposed bargaining unit.
