The Buffalo Niagara region is rolling out the red carpet this week in an effort to persuade about 200 group-travel planners to come back within the next three to five years with busloads of travelers.
The travel planners began arriving Tuesday at the Crowne Plaza Hotel to begin a whirlwind, three-day visit to tourist destinations in Niagara and Erie counties, and to meet with about 100 professional promoters representing local attractions, mainly in the Niagara Falls and Buffalo areas.
