Stranded travellers enjoy the Falls

From the Niagara Falls Review:

As volcanic ash continues to ground aircraft across much of western Europe, travellers stranded in Canada are finding ways to pass the time.

For Nick Haynes, he decided a visit to Niagara Falls was in order.

Haynes, international director at BRE (Building Research Establishment) Group, and Rufus Logan, director of BRE Scotland, were in Toronto last week to attend meetings.

They were scheduled to return to the United Kingdom Thursday, the same day a volcano erupted in Iceland, sending a massive ash cloud into the skies above Europe.

Flights to and from European locations were grounded as debris in the ash cloud could cause jet engines to stall.

“We can’t get home, so we’re doing a bit of sightseeing and (planning) to meet with some people,” Haynes said Sunday before heading out to the Maid of the Mist.
