Twitter updates for 2010-02-11

  • Why doesn't the old Wolfgang Puck's building have a "Margaritaville coming soon" sign up yet? #
  • Just noticed that regular blog visitor @adamwhite also writes for Business Link Niagara (he wrote about social media). Good for you Adam! #
  • I don't know what time it opens, but the Clifton Hill-billy's shooting gallery on Clifton Hill seems to be open very early each day… #
  • @Riches I totally agree! #

  1. “Why doesn’t the old Wolfgang Puck’s building have a “Margaritaville coming soon” sign up yet?”

It does now after the official announcement.

  2. The official announcement was on Wednesday (I think), and I walked by Thursday at around 1 pm, and there was still no sign up. I’ll be by again today, so I’ll take a picture…

  3. I think that was just part of the setup for the announcement. I was by again today, and there is still no sign. I don’t understand why these local companies don’t promote their new developments more… build up the anticipation…

  4. I couldn’t agree more, it doesn’t hold any value keeping it from the public, even the biggest companies in the world purposely leak information for publicity. We small towners can promote your new investment better then television and print ads can any day of the week… lol. I am still waiting to here what is going up in behind the SkyWheel… a Volcano, a Titanic exhibit or the start of the amusement park? I think the last option is probably dead unfortunately!

    1. I guess the other side is to do what Marineland did… announce a big aquarium, but up a billboard-sized sign near where it will be, and then let it sit there with no work being done. That just looks bad. I can see why companies don’t announce things too early, but once you are working on it (like the structure behind the SkyWheel, or Margaritaville), then announce it and talk it up…

      1. exactly, once ground is broken, why not get the word out? or even earlier once it’s a “for sure” thing.

Niagara’s Fury did a great job at spreading the word and in my opinion, it generated a lot of interest in what it would be all about.
