New openness at Parks

It’s hard to know how many chairs to put out when you’re not sure who is coming to the party.

The Niagara Parks Commission is gearing up now to accommodate the press and members of the public at its first public board meeting Friday, after more than a century of holding its sessions in private. But they’re not sure how much interest there will be in watching the mundane goings-on of the provincial agency.

“We’ll have a bit of a gallery there. We’ll just be guessing at attendance,” said commission general manager John Kernahan, who’s overseeing preparations for the meeting.
