From the Niagara Falls Review:
The Sleep Cheap Charities Reap committee is now taking applications from local charities interested in receiving donations from funds generated from the annual event.
Eligibility requirements and application forms are available on the city’s website at www.niagarafalls.ca. The application deadline is Nov. 6.
As in past years, 50 per cent of funds raised from the 2009 Sleep Cheap event will benefit the Niagara Community Foundation while the other half of the funds will be split amongst charities selected by the committee.
Last year, 25 hotels helped to raise $180,000 in four days. Some of last year’s recipients were the Alzheimer’s Society of Niagara Region, Goodwill Niagara and the Niagara Peninsula Children’s Centre.
A list of this year’s participating hotels will be released in the near future.
Room rates for this year will be $35 per night for a standard room, $45 for a fallsview room and $85 for a room with access to a water park.
So, deadline of Nov 6th, US Thanksgiving is Nov 26th. I’m thinking this runs either Nov 16-19 or Nov 30 – Dec 3. I need to find out soon! Need to book time off of work
Did they raise the prices ? I thought it was cheaper last yr for a waterpark hotel.
Yeah, I think waterparks were $65 last year, but the $35 and $45 seem the same.
does anyone know the call in day yet? And I believe the dates are Nov 9-12th.
ya does anybody know when the call in dates are?? or when they will be in the paper???
In past yrs there has first been a listing of participating hotels and a write up about the success of previous yrs and how the goal is higher, etc ~ a general information piece.
Then shortly after there is the announcement that “today is the day” in the morning paper. I don’t think there is generally any prior knowledge other than perhaps newspaper staff at printing time.
Not saying that this is definitely how things will go this yr but this has been the pattern in the past.
Nov 9 – 12th it is. No word yet on when to call in.

Found out from the front desk at great wolf lodge that they are not participating this year!
I did think it was interesting in today’s article that Jim Diodati said that “most” of the big names were participating…
Time to call. Friday at 8am

Just to clarify, is the above (top) post about charity appliation availability current or for 2009? I have searched through the city’s website and found nothing about the application for 2010.
Many thanks!
That was for 2009. I haven’t seen anything for 2010 yet
Thanks, I figured as much, but thought it was worth double-checking.
