Bakery building burns

From the Niagara Falls Review:

The Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office has been called in to investigate a blaze that destroyed the King David Bakery and Cafe early Monday morning on Centre Street, a short distance from Clifton Hill.

Members of the Niagara Falls fire department received a call at about 12:50 a. m., of heavy smoke coming from the back of a building at 5061 Centre St., near Ellen Avenue.

“The building was pretty involved by the time we arrived on scene,” said Ben Trendle, a fire prevention officer with the Niagara Falls Fire Department.

“It appears that the cinder block walls gave way and the roof collapsed.”
