This is a neat photography trick called tilt shifting. One of its uses is that you can make a regular building that has been photographed looked like it is a miniature version of that building. It also involves blurring some of the photo.

I know this isn’t really Niagara Falls related, but a couple of months ago I came across a site where someone posted some pictures he took of Niagara Falls. He used this technique and has made things look miniaturized. It looks very good. Remember, these are regular pictures, and they have been adjusted to have this look. The best picture is the main picture he took of the Victoria Ave/Clifton Hill intersection. It really does look like a miniature version.

    Hi Graham,

Thanks for referring to my blog.

Clifton hill was actually the perfect place to miniaturize because in the winter snow whiteness, the colorful buildings really stood out.

Hey Graham I messed around with this technique using 3 older pics I had taken from last year and I think they turned out pretty good especially the one of the newer Skylon development on Murry Hill.

Now that I know about this I will be getting up much higher to get better shots!

    Hey StEC,

Great shots, I tried commenting on your website, but it wouldn’t let me. I look forward to more pics.

Hi Dan, that’s odd I have it setup for anonymous comments I just need to approve them before they show up… I will look into that but thanks! :)
