From the Niagara Falls Review:

The Maid of the Mist’s lease with the Niagara Parks Commission is in ship-shape, the company’s president says. But the former parks commission member who questioned the deal says a government report released Monday sinks it.

There are conflicting interpretations of what Ontario Integrity Commissioner Lynn Morrison’s report on the Niagara Parks Commission does to an extension of a lease that allows the tour boat company to do business from its land. A 25-year extension was negotiated last year but has been held up because of an integrity investigation.

Morrison’s report called for the government to give the board “the opportunity to review its decision” once it has received information about the government’s expectations for generating revenue.

Her report doesn’t explicitly tell parks commissioners to undo the deal with the Maid of the Mist and start from scratch.

But it doesn’t tell them not to, either.
