As a child, I grew up in Northern Indiana and we visited Niagara Falls on vacation, since it was not far.
My father is fascinated with all things mechanical and natural, and in 1969, those two combined when the American falls were shut down to inspect and reinforce with concrete.
My parents decided we had to see this, and in October during a fall break, we took off with the tent trailer to visit Niagara Falls. We encountered snow partway there, but continued, and camped in the snow in our tent trailer.
