From the Niagara Falls Review:
An American businessman is going to court, seeking to overturn the lease between the Maid of the Mist and Niagara Parks Commission and to have an “open and fair” bidding process for the right to run boat tours in Niagara Falls.
A lawyer for Bill Windsor applied for a judicial review of the agreement that allows the historic tour company to run its Canadian operation on land owned by the commission.
“We say (the parks commission) had a policy which required a tendering process and they failed to follow it.” said Graydon Sheppard, a Hamilton lawyer hired by Windsor. “We want them to follow their policy and build a process that’s an open and fair process,” he said.
