From the Niagara Falls Review:
It will be more difficult to get a drink in this town in January as three bars serve liquor licence suspensions following Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario investigations into violations that occurred in 2008.
The Dragonfly Night Club won’t be serving drinks for most of January, after agreeing to a 28-day suspension. The AGCO, the provincial licensing authority, proposed disciplinary action against the bar after several licence violations in 2008. The bar is a tenant in the Fallsview Casino building, though not part of the actual casino operation.
Eight times between January 25 and July 13, investigators observed drunken patrons in the bar. On April 5, an undercover police officer was given cocaine in the licensed premise, according to a statement of facts both the AGCO and the bar agree to. The documents were released to the media as part of the AGCO’s notification process in late December. Dragonfly had served a previous 17-day suspension in January 2008, the report states.
