From the Niagara Falls Review:
Never mind the soda, Kim Mitchell, a piping mug of hot chocolate was more in order for the thousands who braved bone-chilling cold to ring in the new year in Queen Victoria Park.
Mitchell, the Canadian rocker, ushered in 2009 pumping out his hit “Go For a Soda” while New Year’s Eve revellers danced the night away at the annual outdoor concert run by the Niagara Parks Commission and City of Niagara Falls.
The trademark OPP cap Mitchell used to wear onstage in the 1990s gave way to a grey tuque for his two sets. The temperature Wednesday night hovered around -10C.
“Woo, she’s cold,” Mitchell said between songs. Mitchell pulled out old hits like “Wild Party” and “Rockland Wonderland,” songs that were big 20 years ago.
