From the Niagara Falls Review:

Niagara’s casinos had one of their slowest summers since the Fallsview Casino opened five years ago, according to figures released by Ontario Lottery and Gaming Friday.

“Certainly, the economic climate has been hard. It’s had a bit of an impact on the amount of money we’ve been able to bring in for the people of Ontario,” OLG spokesman Rui Brum said Friday.

The combined revenue for Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort and Casino Niagara was $168.5 million in OLG’s second fiscal quarter, the period between July 1 and Sept. 30. That’s down slightly from the $172.4 million gross revenue Niagara’s casinos reported last summer. OLG, the Crown corporation that owns Ontario’s casinos, reports the financial results of its two Niagara Falls properties together.
