So yesterday I met Vince DiCosimo Jr and a couple of other guys at the Hilton. It was just a short meeting in the lobby bar of the hotel. They said they liked the site and would be happy to have me post some things. I will arrange a time and stay over, and then Vince will take me on a tour of the new building.
I had heard (although I never believed it), that the Hilton had run out of money and that’s why they seemed to have stopped, but that is not the case. The building is essentially done now at 52 floors. There are actually a couple of floors that are on top that look unfinished, but those are the part floors that have some of the roof on them.
One of them took me on a short tour of the hotel. The view from the Watermark Restaurant was incredible. I’m sure it would be quite spectacular to be eating dinner there when the fireworks are going off. The view from the Blue Martini Lounge is equally amazing.
From there I also got a better view of the construction.
We also walked across the walkway that connects the Hilton and the Fallsview Casino. The hotel(s) look quite imposing when they are looming over you.
I’ll have more information to pass along later…
