On page 34 it give this:

    Adding 102 rooms
    to existing hotel by
    expaning the floor
    plates of storeys
    from te 7th floor up.
    The number of
    existing floors will
    remain the same

I’ll do my best to post some new things Graham, but there really isn’t much new to mention that you haven’t already covered… enjoy your free time!

Dan I can’t see where you are talking about? On page 13. it talks about the original Embassy Suites proposal which is obviously complete, but nothing has ever been mentioned about an expansion to the grounds?

  9. sue says:

ya..i have new proposed on page 35…page 133 looks like the original …some of that stuff is hard to read..it sure ain’t listed in order…lol

what does expanding floor plates mean?

On a sad note, the Wolfgang Puck Grand Cafe is now closed.
I think the name really hurt this place. They had good food at reasonable prices, but people thought it was a high end Puck restaurant and avoided it. It also didn’t help that it wsa in a pretty ugly building. Of course, it may just have been because the Skylon was involved. :)

  12. sue says:

this was mentined on the food networkawhile ago drafty….the closure i mean….and yes…yur so right in assuming the name thing…too high end stuff….not suitable for NF…vegas…yes….but not here…actually..if you followed the big name chefs…he’s not one of them…

    my 2 cents :)

  13. Dan M. says:

Sorry, I’m not sure how I got the page numbers all mixed up. Slide 2 is actually page 1.

I’m disappointed I never took the time to go to Wolfgang’s (or the Cafe Tu Tu Tango). I know a couple of servers that used to work there and I will try to find some details.

  14. Chris says:

when do yo think the hilton will be opening? it looks finished

  15. drafty says:

Chris, are you looking at the right hotel? They are still adding stories and the whole base structure has just been started. It won’t open until next summer at best.

Dan, I know that the Skylon took over operation of Wolfgang’s from the original francisee (they always owned the building), but just couldn’t make it work.

  16. SaraAB87 says:

If this opens before the border closes to visitors without a passport or an enhanced ID I will probably go. Is there free parking at this location or do you have to pay (provided you are a customer of D&B)? I have tons of unused points from the Williamsville location and I am looking for some new arcade games to spend them on, but if I have to pay 10$ for parking forget it.

  17. sue says:

sara…i will ask my friend the next time i see him…he runs the parking lot directly across (the old hilltop inn)…i was wondering that too…if the parking is way too much….NO restaurant is gonna do any good…. :(
