From the Niagara Falls Review:

Talks to keep Casino Niagara at its Falls Avenue location are still ongoing – more than a year after Premier Dalton McGuinty told Ontario Lottery and Gaming to make a deal to extend the casino’s lease.

Behind the scenes, the landlord Canadian Niagara Hotels has offered what it calls a “substantial” rent reduction, OLG is “engaged” in the talks but “exploring a number of options,” and Mayor Ted Salci says the uncertainty prevents both city and private-sector projects in the Clifton Hill area from going ahead.

“We are not panicking, by any means. We are concerned,” Salci said last week.

actually..we like the original casino much better than the new one…not sure why…maybe cuz i guess we always stay on the hill…very close by..but it just seems more..i dunno…*comfy*..i know…how comfy can a casino be?…but we just feel like the new casino is one BIG..HUGE room full of people….just our preference…might have something to do with fact that we both absolutely LOVED maple leaf village with our kids and it’s just a sentimental thing???
    just my 2 cents worth..
