Isn’t that something that they’ve always charged for escalation, even if you were spending large amounts of money to eat in the restaurants!!! And I’d be willing to bet that now that it’s ‘free’, the meal prices have been adjusted accordingly :(

They have always charged for the ride to the top eating up there or not.

Ya know, we’ve gone up there for dinner once or twice, and I don’t remember paying extra for the ride up and the observation deck. I could be wrong, it’s been a few years.

I always thought u had to pay that costs down below first?

If you dine in the restaurant, I always thought that it was free… that you didn’t have to pay the additional fee that a normal visitor to the observation deck would have to.

This seems conflicting and contridictary to what I’ve heard before. It doesn’t make sense that they charged you to ride up the elevator to dine in their over-priced restaurant when that should have been included in the inflated food prices already!

However, isn’t it free if you choose to climb the stairs… same with CN-Tower, or am I just imagining it?

I thought the ride to the top was always free if you had reservations or were going to dine at the top? Maybe they have flip flopped a couple times from charging to not charging. Anyways I ran across a newsgroup for the skylon that was started by employees a while ago and they couldn’t stop talking about how the restaurant was very dirty and overpriced.

I think this has been policy before but been changed several times over; as Sara mentioned. I think for a while they charged and then stopped, re-started etc…
