I emailed Ann Marie Rondinelli at Marineland asking if there was anything new this year. I was disappointed to not hear back from Anne Marie directly. Someone else emailed me what seemed to be a stock reply (telling me some things I already knew):
Thank you for your email and interest in Marineland!
Marineland is open for operation on May 17, 2008. General Admission is as follows:Regular (Ages 10-59) $39.95 plus tax
Child/Senior (Ages 5-9 & 60 +) $32.95 plus tax
Ages 4 and under FREEThe newest attraction at the park is the new Topple Tower Ride. The new, dipping, swirling, head-spinning Topple Tower takes 40 passengers in a circular gondola close to 70 feet skyward and then tilts back and forth at 60 degrees while the vehicle rotates giving riders a feeling of toppling over. A large replica of a walrus sits atop the central tower section of the ride making for a ride that is 82 feet high.
I replied again confirming the season’s pass and got the following response:
we do still have the Season’s Pass for $5.00 plus tax additional per person.
So, the bottom line is that there was nothing changed over this winter, and the prices have remained the same.

Ashame… but little to no surprise.
It seems to take them years to build a new attraction, years to open it, and years inbetween another new attraction!
I bet there isn’t even any verticle construction on the aquarium yet… and if they EVER opened a new rollercoaster, it would take probably 3yrs from start to finish.
It’d be nice if they redid their website. The one now is at least 5yrs old or so, with just minimal updates.
ya, rob, they only update every, i dunno, 6 months-a year?
thanks, graham, for confirming my comment on the other post.
all i’m gonna say right now, there is a good chance i will be returning with the season pass (great deal!!!!) and hopefully the sharks exhibit has been started. all i can say is this. I love the park, but if they would want extra business (which i don’t need, i like parks w/out many people
) they should:
1. start/finish the sharks exhibit,
2. get a 360 degree attraction (flipper, etc.),
3. add another roller coaster, or
4. add a waterpark
knowing marineland none of those (if built) would be done till 2010. of course, that doesn’t mean they won’t get more employees for construction and architecture, but they should have extra employees now.
As i said, i love the park, especially the way they portray scenery to rides and attractions, it makes them look a lot nicer, but they have to pick up the pace.
quick question:
if any of you were there last summer/season (i know graham was), after the first tunnel on dragon mountain, what is all the scaffolding and metal bars gonna be used for??
I would say build a waterpark, I don’t personally care for waterparks but for the general public they are the cat’s meow. Its just kind of dumb to have a marine themed park without a waterpark, and a waterpark would bring in the people.
Oh and the obligatory, the park NEEDS a people mover statement also applies here, if marineland needs anything before anything else, its a people mover.
Marineland does not update their park a lot but when they do update their park they put in real, quality attractions that will last forever. They are a quality over quantity park. Have they ever even had to remove or replace a ride there, from what I see they have the same rides they had when I was in 7th grade when I went there, which needless to say, was a long time ago.
Thats crappy that u didn’t get more of a personal reponse.
I find it so pathetic that Marineland does not invest in it’s park properly it should be like Sea World with the amount of tourists the Falls gets! First I can’t believe an aquatic themed park named Marienland does not have a single water ride….no log flume, no river rapids ride, no boat ride, no water park not even bumper boats now that is sad! Secondly roller coasters are the staple of any amusement park yet the only ONE there is like what over 30 years old…. come on man build some roller coasters and keep adding more you have the room? Also lacking is midway games where you can play to win prizes and brand name chain restaurants to eat from instead of the crap the park dishes out! And for the love of god please finish the damn WORLD’S LARGEST AQUARIUM COMPLEX that is apparently “Under Construction” *rolls eyes*!
Build it and they will come and Niagara Falls is certainly worthy of a world class amusement park! Man I so wish them rumours a couple years back were true that Wonderland bought Marienland!
The part that sucks is that Marineland will probably use the questions surrounding tourism in the future as an excuse to not build on the various projects they say they are “working on.”
When in reality, these projects have been scheduled for years and years, before any doubts; with no visable proof of any progess towards them whotsoever.
If Ripley’s goes ahead and builds their aquarium, Marineland will have no choice but to go ahead and build their aquarium.
I think there should be a clause that states that any Niagara attraction is not allowed to put up a “working on” sign unless the attraction is a few months from opening. Its VERY misleading to customers, to see a “working on” sign, then to come back next year, and see the same sign for example. Theoretically, a park could put up a “working on” sign, just to draw in customers, when they don’t even have plans of building that attraction. It almost feels like thats whats going on in this case. Perhaps if they stopped misleading customers with “signs” for upcoming attractions they would get more business.
i am going to argue one thing IMO: the wonderland comment
“Man I so wish them rumours a couple years back were true that Wonderland bought Marienland!” (STec)
i’m sorry, but if you are like me, this comment is suggesting it look like wonderland, which i (personally) don’t like. no offense to anyone, please don’t drive me with a sword, but this is honestly not a true rumour, but if it were to ever happen, you woudn’t be able to go on Dragon Mountain, don’t even TRY bear scrambler ride or the kid area. this is how wonderland currently stands, and, honestly, i wouldn’t want that to happen to a peaceful place! (would you?)
lastly, when sara said “They are a quality over quantity park.”, it hit me. that is exactly right, and IMO, i like it that way! such a peaceful park, great scenery (especially animal viewing areas and dragon mountain), and the look of the queue areas and stores/restaurants all looking the same, i think they are pro at scenery and quality. they are (as the queue areas and stores/restaurants suggests) they’re theme is medievel, and they stick to that perfectly!!!!! if wonderland buys it out, wouldn’t it be a shame for half of it to disappear in a crowd of unruly teens/adults?
once agin please don’t try to drive a sword through me, just my opinions!
There was a rumor back a few years ago that Wonderland was going to MOVE to Niagara Falls, Ontario… not buy Marineland… I followed that story, and there was no mention of a Marineland buy-out… it’s just that Wonderland was land-locked & there was a rumor they were looking for a larger area, but they even had a personal note on their website that the rumors were completely false.
With Marineland, their MAIN problem is that the park is so large, but there’s so little inbetween, that it is such a pain on a hot summer day to walk from the aqua stadium, to the Friendship cove, to Dragon Mountain, to Sky Screamer without dropping dead of heat exhaustion.
They had planned a boat ride… and they have the waterway carved out… but nothing! They had intended for a train-ride… nothing (not sure, but I think both were intended for a full loop, not multiple drop-off points).
As much as they need a new rollercoaster, or even some new marine attractions… they just have to fill in the gaps between rides & attractions with other stuff too, such as more restaurants/eaterys, instead of just that one in the far corner of the park. It doesn’t have to be a national chain, just something to help spread the crowds to other areas of the park.
Hmm, it’s May… anyone see any Marineland commercials yet? Wonder if Topple Tower will be implimented.
I don;t think Marineland needs a water park. There are three which two of them being good. I would love to see a log fume.
I am not a fan of wonderland.
The thing about RollerCoaster is that once MarineLand builds one Wonderland will come up with a new bigger faster one.
i haven’t been to marineland in about 30 years…lol..do they have a petting zoo?..i was considering getting the pass for the extra $5 (unlimited for the season..right?)…i’ve been watching what all you guys are saying about it and it seems like a great deal..since i’ll be in fonthill every week at the trailer..i can take my granddaughter…and i saw from graham’s post that she’s free cuz she’s only 2 1/2..not too concerned about rides..but a petting zoo would be kewl for her…what about the place where you can touch the dolphins and whales?..i dunno anything about this place and to be honest..the website don’t offer too much..i figure all you guys can gimme better info!

I’m sorry but peaceful is boring especially at the rate they add new attractions it’s just not worth it and in order to bring in tourists they need to build new exciting attractions especially with these gas prices they better damn well have something worth driving here to see! lol
Sure there is a lot of quality at Marineland, but does that make up for their lack in quantity? There are a lot of quality parks such as Busch Gardens, Holiday World, etc that offer a great variety while maintaining that level of quality. For being such a popular tourist destination on the global scale, Niagara Falls needs a better amusement park.
sue…
they have a place where you can pet the deer, huge area…really neat! and you feed and pet beluga for $7 (but you only feed 3 fish!) and what i think is funny, your granddaughter being 2 1/2 would have to pay $30-35 at wonderland! ouch, she’s 2.
i hear your opinions, StEC and Dan M., but i will never change my mind. i love marineland and what it currently has to offer, but remember, i’m not trying to persuade anyone!
what i do think, though, is, if you’ve been in the past 2 years or so, is that they should definately put in a good attraction/ride right accros from friendship cove entrance. You know, the big field in front of deer park and friendship cove. It’s pretty darn huge, they could fit a really good attraction/ride there!!!!
just got the new hill update…wow!!!..good deal fer sure….

and thanks for the info chris
Warning to anyone thinking of going to Marineland. Three of us went there yesterday and we all felt that it was a huge tourist trap. We were there quite a few years ago and enjoyed a really good sea lion, dolphin and whale show. What we saw yesterday wasn’t even one quarter as good as many years ago. After the aquarium show we inquired where the shark exhibit shown on the map was and we were told that it hadn’t been built yet. The rides were few and far between. If you want rides, go to Canada’s Wonderland where you really get your money’s worth. Marineland has great open picnic areas but at over $45 per person we felt that it was a huge rip-off
hold on mar.
i know rides at wonderland are a lot more better quality, but marineland is a great place attractions they rely on scenery more than quantity, and personally i like that.
although, i must agree with you on the shows, they’ve gotten worse over the last few years, not bad, they are still good, but they got worse.
wonderland has more and better rides than Marineland . So i suggest that you guys try to make it more better and get more rides and more better stuff than wonderland. thankyou but still i like Marineland better that Wonderland has. Lke : shops, animals , store how to make tatooes concerts about cartoon so then people will hurry to Marinland that wonderland
huh!?!?!? re-post this and make it “more better”.
same as niagara.
