Keeping with my announced plans, on Mondays there will be a question of the week. This will most often be asking about your experiences, but may occasionally be a trivia questions.
To start it all off, I’ve got a pretty basic questions: What is your favourite thing to do in Niagara Falls? Do you come for the casino? The view? The attractions? It brings back memories? Leave your answer in the comments below!

Fave thing to do, is the maid of the mist. never gets old.
Id say however that great memories and the casino are a huge reason as well. love the area. ive been asked so amny times over the years awhy i like coming to nf so much and i can never get one clear answer…i just do.
Personally…look for photo ops. Whether it is the Falls themselves, the surrounding gardens….I even took a picture in Pen Centre last time I was there (I love the giant chess board).
To narrow it down - no trip is complete without visiting Niagara-on-the-Lake. It’s just so damn quaint! Picturesque, great shopping, restaurants…it’s got it all!
In fact….I just made a job change and moved into a very cold cubicle. I want to find a wrap that I can leave at the office - but I can’t find a decent one around here! I can picture the back wall of one of the shops that has them floor to ceiling. There’s one in the casino, too. The last wrap I bought was at Danier Leather. I’m actually considering a special trip! I’m sure my mom-in-law wouldn’t mind visiting the casino, either!!! heehee. : )
My favorite thing - there is not one. We like doing the Great Gorge pass from the Niagara Parks. We usually buy our passes from AAA.
The second is the Ghostblasters and Cosmic Coaster at the Great Canadian Midway with a ride during the day and a ride during the night on the Ferris Wheel
If I had to choose one and only it would be looking at the falls and just walking along river road…. name another place in the world you can do something like that!
I also like walking Clifton Hill, the lights, sounds and action is fun to soak in!
First thing I have to say is this is an awesome idea Graham, great job!! I honestly use to love Clifton Hill for the memories as a kid, and I love the new fresh Vegas feel of the Fallsview district, but I still get goosebumps at the natural raw beauty of being up close to those falls. I love them, and I try to see them at least once a day everyday if time permits. I’ll never get sick of that view, local residents need to recapture that feeling that it gave them the first time they ever saw them, it is truly a blessing to live so close to such a natural wonder, and I don’t take it for granted! I also love driving along the Parkway and out towards N.O.T.L with my wife and kids, best memories in the world!
For my husband and I, it is the view and the memories definitely! In our little corner of the world,we never tire of this piece of heaven. The Great Gorge is a real favorite!
It also depends on who I am with. I have accompanied Karen on a couple of trips and I thoroughly enjoy what she likes to do. I see the Falls through her eyes and what eyes they are!!! She has shown me little places I never knew existed!
We spent our honeymoon at the Falls in 1962, and 44 years later we still enjoy returning…again….and again….and again!
and again….and again…..and again…. : )
My favorite thing? Hum… I don’t have one. I have many. We ALWAYS enjoy the fireworks over the Falls! And have watched from both sides. And spend countless hours down there in the Victoria Park area taking pictures, taking in the scenery, the flowers, the people… doing the “wet” things. We always try to do something new (and there is always SOMETHING new to do - things change so often there), but we always seem drawn to some of the same things time after time. I think we’ve been to the Imax every visit, as well as the observation deck of the Skylon, we lose what we budget at the casino, and take our shortcut up the incline. Followed the totally exhausted feeling we have well after 1am when we finally get back to our room and lay down for a minute. The more tired we are the better the day was!
