From the Niagara Falls Review:
There’s plenty Jim Cooper will miss about Oh Canada Eh?, the patriotic dinner show he co-founded 12 years ago.
The songs won’t be one of them.
“When you’ve sang the same songs about 1,700 or 1,800 times, it might be nice to put some of them to bed,” he says with a laugh. “And the strange thing is, they’ll probably go completely out of my head within a couple of weeks.”
He’ll find out soon enough. Tonight, Cooper takes the stage for the final time, walking away from one of the most successful entertainment ventures in the city’s history.

House of Pancakes chain coming to city
Business - Tuesday, October 24, 2006 @ 09:00
The International House of Pancakes is coming to Niagara Falls. On Monday, Marisa Alfieri announced Pancakes Canada Ltd. will open three restaurants in Ontario in the next five years - two in the Niagara region and one in Barrie.
Alfieri said the first restaurant should open in Niagara in mid-2007.
The restaurants will be the first for U.S. franchise in Canada. Alfieri, who manages The Capri restaurant, which is owned by her family, said choosing to open the pancake restaurants was easy because of the chain’s reputation across the United States. “We are delighted to be chosen as the first developer in Canada for such an outstanding brand,” she said. A location has yet to be determined, she said.
So anyone been? How is this place?
Its okay, its alot like Dennys really. Here in the states they get a big breakfast rush, and then a big rush at night/early morning hours from people coming back from bars.
Pancakes arent bad, but Travelers Delight are far better:) Its just another restaurant chain really, nothin special.
The International House of Pancakes AKA IHOP’s here are pretty good. The pancakes have a nice taste to it nice and light and fluffy.
I know here they have 1/2 off for seniors Monday and Tuesday not up to that age yet but nice.
They have a nice range of food from Chicken Parm to Roast Beef, to Fish Fries on Fridays. Food is pretty decent service here is great.
Hopefully they won’t jack up the prices like every other chain does in Niagara Falls. The Alfieri’s are, I believe, the owners of the Capri restaurant, so maybe they will be nice to us locals.
I wouldnt count on decent prices. I still cant believe how sky high the prices are at Dennys and Fridays compared to normal U.S. prices.
