New Restaurants in Clifton Hill and Fallsview Tourist Areas

There are several new restaurants opening in the Clifton Hill and Fallsview tourist areas of Niagara Falls. Here are some photos and links to some of them:

What used to be Horror Manor is being changed to the Spicy Olive Bar & Grille. It is just at the top of Clifton Hill, through the traffic lights, on the left.

  • Ok, a scary haunted house turned into an upscale restaurant, why? I hope Niagara Falls’ other haunted houses don’t follow the same path, I mean Alien Encounter is also gone and being converted into a motorcycle museum-all scary theming removed. That’s two losses for 2005 of walk-through scary attractions, although the Louis Tussaud’s Waxworks is coming back for 2005 in a new location on Victoria Av. it was gone since Sept. 2000 when it was torn down at it’s old location next to the Sheraton Clifton Hill-formerly Skyline Foxhead. Also, Adventure Dome is gone and is now Brick City, and Circus World is gone and Movieland moved to the former Circus World location. I hope Nightmares, Creatures, Screamers, House of Frankenstein, Castle Dracula and Haunted House survive for many more years, as I want to be able to visit them if I go to the falls sometime. I’ve never been to the falls yet.

  • i think horror manor was unsuccessful. Being on Center St. probably wasn’t very good for business in an already saturated market. Hopefully the Spicy Olive will be more successful.

  • I haven’t heard anything else about any of the other “horror” places closing. I suspect that there will always be a couple, but maybe not as many as we’ve had. Generally speaking the main tourist areas are trying to go more upscale to make more money. Compared to 10 years ago, the Falls is far less chincey or tacky.
On a side note, Chris thinks that Montana’s will be expanding to the property that is the Criminal Hall of Fame. If you look at the way the building was made, and where the sign is, it isn’t centred. Chris has no information to prove this, but it certainly sounds possible.

  • With regards to the location of Horror Manor, I agree, and so I too wonder if the Spicy Olive is going to make it. As my wife and I were out for a walk tonight down there, we were commenting on all the Food & Beverage outlets there were and wondered how they all could stay in business. We’ll see…

  • Can anyone tell me of the surviving haunted houses which one is the scariest? Nightmares, Screamers House of Horrors, Creatures of the Night, House of Frankenstein, Castle Dracula, and Haunted House on Clifton Hill by the former Adventure Dome now Brick City. Which one is the longest, and which ones are worth the money or are they all duds? Anyone who has been to Alien Encounter which is now gone, what was it like? I was in the new one at Lake George, NY last year and it is smaller, the guys there told me that the Niagara Falls one is twice as big but now it’s gone so I’ll never experience it myself unless it comes back elsewhere. Also, what happened to Circus World and what was it? An arcade? It looked like an arcade in the Clifton Hill brochure I have.

  • Can anyone who has been through all 3 of Screamers’ haunted houses in cluding Horror Manor explain the differences between each one? What was Horror Manor like inside? On Webshots there’s a bunch of photos of the Clifton Hill haunted houses including a shot of the Horror Manor exterior and two shots of the lobby.

  • i think that nightmares is the scariest experience. it was my first time going through it last year, and it wont be my last. over the past years i have been going into screamers, and i think that nightmares is 10x better and alot scarier. Before i was going in there was a group of 40 year old men before me and they had chickened out from the start. The actors are allowed to touch you, and it makes it alot better
